Nothing authentic about this place. The menu us 100% tex-mex. That said it didn't even pass for tex-mex or cali mex . The salsa tasted like spicy ketchup. My fajita chimichanga was filled with chopped chicken and I melted cheddar,no fajita peppers in sight. When asked how the food was, I told the truth. I was asked if I didn't like Mexican, my response was, this is not Mexican. The kids meals don't come with meat. My daughter had a refried bean burrito with a side of refried beans and rice. My sons cheese enchilada was so unidentifiable the server wasn't even sure what it was. My husband asked if he could have his refill to go, so we were charged for an extra drink. This was a very awkward and unappetizing experience. I felt like we all needed something to induce vomit after leaving. Such a waste of money and meal space. This only gets two stars because the server wasn't horrible other than getting offended because I thought the mess on my plate was weird.

The only Mexican restaurant in the state of Florida where the Owner is Mexican and the staff is white. The food was mediocre, service was fast and reliable. As a whole they really need to step their game up if they plan on succeeding as a Mexican restaurant in a country where Mexican food is as common as a gas station. They have lucked out by opening in a retirement haven In Flagler beach, Most of the guest have probably lost the use of their taste buds at this point.... That's a bit far the food isn't that bad.

So when I come in I immediately let the staff know I'm alergic to onions, so they bring me some beans with onions some tacos with onions, my partner who respects my allergy also ordered no onion got some anyways. My waitress half apoligizes. Says she'll take my one glass of sangria off the check, for poisoning me. My night was ruined thanks to this restraunt. Benadryl and pepto for me on my vacation. Our family will never be returning.

My husband and I had dinner at La Familia with friends who highly recommended said restaurant. We are originally from San Diego and are very particular when it comes to Mexican cuisine. Fabulous! The chips and salsa were great. And my carne asada was perfect. Everyone enjoyed their meals as well. It is so nice to have an authentic Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood.

This place wasn't here when we visited Flagler 4 years ago but this will become one of our staples when we come back. The food was excellent and quick. The cheese dip could've been better but everything else was awesome!!

Took a chance and stopped at La Familia Mexican Grill as it opened just one month ago. Immediately upon entering we were nicely greeted by the waitress and quickly seated. Warm chips and salsa came out within less than a minute. Order was taken within a few minutes and food came out promptly and very tasty. Owner came by the table to check how everything was going and if met our expectations. Would definitely go back as this is the best of the Mexican restaurants that can be found on Flagler Beach.

Delicious. Chips and salsa, camarones al mojo and tamales were very good. Their flan dessert was delicious. Owner came to check on us. 3rd time here and will keep coming back!

We came, we ate, and left disappointed. Great location with friendly staff. Prices were reasonable. Unfortunately, they don't serve margaritas which was disappointing. The problem I had was with food which was soaking in oil (I actually tipped my plate to show the server) and no flavor. I think they need to work on making their have some aroma that you'd want to go back.

My wife and I have spent our honeymoon and many of our anniversaries in Mexico. This year we needed to close to home so we decided to eat Mexican food on our anniversary. The food was tasty. They gave us a nice warm basket of chips with a perfect salsa. We both had beef enchiladas, my wife had hers topped with Chili and I had spicy cheese. The portions were generous with big helpings of beans and rice. The don't have liquor, but all the domestic and Mexican beers as well as Sangria . Oh did I mention its not very expensive. The owner came by to ask about the meal!

Fajitas are good. This place hit the spot. Food was fast. The cheese enchilada we ordered for our toddler was not good. It seemed old and was very greasy. Service was great! Very attentive although it wasn't very busy.

Pretty tasteless for us. Even the bowl of Queso was bland. Rice-a-Roni has better Mexican rice. Waitresses very attentive and took good care of us. The short order cook needs seasoning training.

Let's start from the time you walk in the door....apparently it's the owner that greet you very cute young man and they definitely are quite glad to see here that is the attitude of the entire staff.our server Kylie couldn't have been more attentive. Started the experience with the White cheese dip..chips are fresh and warm the small dip was large can't even imagine what the regular size would be like. The burrito was gigantic Bubbly and I split it,also split the street tacos the meat is so flavorful because it's well seasoned not just your run-of-the-mill ground beef! Probably one of the best Mexican restaurants we have been to an extremely long time, what a little great find, don't pass this place up if you like original Mexican you will love this establishment!!!!!

My family and I really enjoyed this restaurant! The portions are nice and the presentation was beautiful. My husband enjoyed the big screen TV's for watching football; the Cowboys. I had the Cod which comes with some crab on top, my husband had the Texas Burrito ( I think that was the name), my daughter had tacos, and the other had a quesadilla. All the dishes were delish!!!! We will definitely be going again!!!

Food was fantastic! Portions were large. Owner and server were very friendly and did a great job serving us! Best thing about the place is the million dollar view! I did think the prices were a bit higher than other Mexican restaurants I have eaten at. That's probably due to the location. We ordered 2 meals both priced at $14 each. A child's plate that was $6 and nachos that 2 kids shared. We also ordered queso and three kids drinks. Our bill was $60. Usually at other places we would have only spent $40 for the same food.

I was surprised at how good the food and service was! The waitress was helpful and knowledgeable even though her pronunciation of some items clearly had no Spanish influence. In particular, she helped my father, step by step, in ordering what he wanted even due to his inexperience with Mexican food. I knew we were in for a good experience when the chips and salsa came out. The chips were warm and fresh and salsa tasty. Entrees came out reasonably quickly. I had the enchaladas verde which tasted great! Dad had the burrito which he really enjoyed. I will definitely come back and would highly recommend this restaurant.

Best Mexican food we've had! Guacamole and salsa were both fantastic and freshly prepared! There are many vegetarian choices on the menu such as spinach quesadillas, presented beautifully with the addition of avocado, tomatoes and sourcream! The waitress was very attentive and helpful with the varied menu. The choices include fried shrimp, fish tacos, fajitas, burritos and tacos..beautiful view of the ocean. Don't miss this place for a delicious lunch or dinner.

Wow! Are you ready for authentic Mexican flavor on the Palm Coast area? This place is for real. I have travelled around the country and love real authentic Mexican food. We had beef fajitas and a recommendation rib eye steak with shrimp that was a true delight. So surprised at how good everything was. Totally impressed.

Yay, hot delicious AUTHENTIC food - open for breakfast! The restaurant is large, clean, modern and the staff is just lovely. The food made my mouth sing and the great Mexican music had me literally singing. I will go there any and every time I'm in Flagler Beach.

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful dinner at La Familia. This was our first time and even though I had read some encouraging reviews, I was skeptical. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley in Southern Ca so good Mexican food was the norm. Not so much since moving here 3 years ago. Our last attempt was at Fuego Del Mar and it was truly horrible. We have not found a good place...until today! I had read some very positive reviews so we decided to give it a try. We got there about 5:30 and were seated immediately. Our server was training a new waitress and she was super nice about it. The personalities of the wait staff are delightful and friendly. She took our drink orders and immediately returned with our unlimited basket of freshly fried in house chips and salsa. The chips were hot and crispy and not overly salted. The salsa was also fresh and tasty. Our experience at Fuego Del Mar had been shocking in many ways, one of which was that they charged $2.50 for each tiny basket of stale, cold, grocery store bagged chips. I'd never seen any Mexican place do that before. Anyway..my husband was pleased to see that they had Negra Modelo beer and I had a lovely sangria, not too sweet. I decided to try the special, Seafood Pescador which could be made as either enchiladas or relleno, which was my choice. Husband had enchiladas mexicanas. When they brought out the food my waitress apologized because my order had mistakenly been put in as enchilada, not relleno. She brought it out anyway and told me it was on the house and that they would have my correct order out promptly. I was surprised by that! My correct order came out only about 3 minutes later. They asked if I would like the enchilada order boxed up to go. How amazing! The owner also came to our table and apoligsed for the mistake and we had a delightful chat with him. Our food was delicious. I've had Mexican and TexMex food all my life and this is the real deal. Not spicy, but flavorful as it should be. My relleno was delicately coated in egg batter and fried with generous portions of crab and shrimp and fish with just the right amount of white cheese. It came with the most refreshing avocado salad and rice. My husband was in love with his meal as well. He raved about the beans! We decided to have dessert. Husband had flan which again..was perfection. I had their fresh baked brandi apple pie with cinnamon ice cream. So good! We left happy and full and looking forward to our next visit...maybe tomorrow? They do have the most wonderful looking breakfast menu!

We stopped here while driving around on our last day in Florida. Had heard there was no good Mexican food in the area, but If we had found it earlier, we probably would have made 2 stops! The food was fresh and delicious (mmm, cheesy...), the staff were super friendly and attentive. Recommended it to my in-laws who live nearby.

The second I walked in the door I knew that this was going to be unlike every other Mexican restaurant I have been to... boy was I right! The seating was fast and the menus were small, yet easy to read. Famous Selena was playing in the background... then my server came to ask for drink orders. Not only was she rude and pushy but had the audacity to ask if I knew anything at all about Mexican food while still in my first 3 minutes of reading the menu. Maybe she had a bad day... I ordered the carne asada combo and my wife had beef fajitas. The food came quick and I now know why. The carne asada lacked any flavor at all and was under cooked for what I ordered, the best thing on my plate was the Pico de gallo! My wife's fajitas came on a hot skillet that literally BURNED everything on it to the point of charcoal. The corn tortillas we soggy and somewhat cold. When we told the server about our food she was yet again rude and put-offish about our comments. The owner or a manager never came out to check on anything at any time throughout our less than mediocre dinner. Final thoughts... Don't bother with La Familia unless you want a meal right on par with Taco Bell for triple the price. I might add that I have, in fact, had authentic Mexican food (in mexico) and expected a lot more than bland, flavorless food and horrible service. We will not be going back and I STRONGLY recommend you don't either or be prepared for sub par food, device and atmosphere.

Mom and I stopped in for supper tonite and were happy with our choice. Greeted promptly and seated promptly. Waitress was attentive and courteous. I had a beer and mom had wine - nice and cold. Dinners were good - nice and hot. Chicken enchilada was delicious with spicy queso sauce; beef taco was good too with nicely seasoned beef. Waitress said they will have a liquor license soon when the patio is finished; they need 35 more seats to qualify for liquor license. Parking may be tight; but maybe they have a plan for that. Overall a pleasant experience and I will go back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
